There are thousands of unique indie game on Steam under 5000 reviews that are almost immediately drowned by easily churned out asset flip or porn slop
Do not make video games if you can't create a following around your content, even if you are just an artist creating some sort of unique designs or artstyles.

Yeah, at this point, you should only be in indie game development for the sake of passion. It should be rewarding and fun by itself just to do a game, because it's entirely possible you make a masterpiece and no one cares. The competition is too fierce and time is limited.

I had finally to acknowledge that I have zero genuine interest in making games or creativity anymore and move on. There are other ways one could spend his time.
