Yuna with Brotherhood is top tier throwback, however, I find it too on-the-nose. It's one of those things where it was obviously the best choice to give her while at the same time being too good. She shares his animations and everything. It'd be a sin NOT to like it, and yet....

Rikku's turboslut design in X-2 is the best, I hope they remake the game just so that the r34 scene will invigorate.

If you emulate, get an english patched international version. Cd romance has links to it, though you more than likely need to provide an email to the ACTUAL site it takes you to.

Emulated has better facial animations, hd remaster has way better menu designs.

No, she is decidedly not being herself. Because she doesn't know who she is without being a Summoner. She spent her entire life expecting to die fighting Sin, then Tidus upended her plan and fell on that sword for her.
The entire plot is her trying to figure out who she is without being a Summoner. This is even represented in the gameplay with Dress Spheres, she's literally trying on new identities.

X-2 Yuna is sad and melancholy because of what she lost but she's trying to keep a stiff upper lip and do what she wanted everyone else to do if SHE was the one that died.

Gun Mage was pretty fun, but it was more of an anti-monster class than a blue mage. like i think there was blue magic, but most the abilities were like "anti-feline bullet, does crazy damage to feline type enemies" with a different one for every enemy type.

come one this was really good game, nice political plot, lots of ff-jobs, with nice leveling, lots of minigames (like usually in final fantasy games), lots of optional content, some bosses and so one.

people would kill to have such good final fantasy game now, in 2025. ff16 was some shit, ff15 was pure shit. ff14 is mmo, and ff13 (it was bad) was 15 years ago. some good ff games are only ff7 remake games. and it is because they have aspects which are in ffx-2. like minigames, different jobs/characters, optional bosses.

There was some conspiracy stuff about what was going on behind the scenes with Yevon that wasn't revealed in X and was interesting. But it was the tertiary storyline behind Yuna's search for 'Tidus' and the emerging political dynamic in the post-Sin Spira as each faction vies for power in the vacuum left behind so it didn't get enough attention.

I don't know why you're talking about FFX-2 all of a sudden, but my wishlist are the following

I know FF10-2 has an audio drama that's essentially FFX-2.5 but I don't know, the only cool thing was Auron had a bastard child. I don't think FF10-2 remake is realistic given the political climate these days. The original was Charlie's Angels inspired and IIRC Totally Spies was on TV at the same time so it was definitely of the era

Even though the girls are really hot the perception at the time was FF10-2 was a game for women. The type of game you could never admit to other men you were playing, publicly, anyway.
