death stranding 2 and GTA6 are just timed exclusives and you should not waste that much money simply to play games a year or so earlier. if you have a good PC and haven't felt the need to get consoles until now, it's not a particularly good time to start.
if you did want to get a new console the switch 2 is a better value in terms of future games lineup, while PS5 is mostly for playing games you can already play on your PC. if you really just want to play games on a TV and connecting your current PC is not feasible, you should work on building a second PC just for your living room.
unless you really really want the lazy consolefag experience there is little reason to get a PS5 this late in the game.

Sony stopped trying to push raw compute and is going all in with PSSR like Nvidia is doing with DLSS. If every 4 years sony doubles either the resolution or performance then it's safe to assume the PS6 is going to run 4K 120hz games with ML upscaling, just like the ps5 pro does 4k 60 and the standard model at 4k 30.

If you're buying a PS5 and you already got a PC, you're going to want to have a disc drive. Without it, don't even bother. The number of cheap games increases exponentially with the drive since it goes back to PS4 backwards compatibility. Example I'm pretty sure Sekiro on the PC has always been expensive compared to other Souls games for no other than Activision owns it, but on PS4 you can get a cheaper second hand copy to play on your PC.

Most of the replies you're getting are brainrotted PCMR from Reddit or full blown /v pol/ schizophrenic word salads. The RTX 3060 you have won't be aging well, the VRAM is enough but that card itself isn't exactly backing up horsepower to deliver future proof experiences. If you can get a used PS5 with a disc drive for 300-350 that's fine. The cost of upgrading your GPU will be very expensive, you'll see what I mean when you think about which PC part to for.

No a 3060 is still more than fine for 1080p gaming or 1440p if you utilise DLSS. You're better off saving money and getting a cheap ryzen 5600x to slot in place of that 5600g. It's much faster. Od you can get something more high end like a 5700x or 5700x3d which will still be cheap since am4 is EOL by now, and you'll have a bit more headroom for future GPU upgrades.

Are you explaining the PS5? Because you don't seriously believe a PS5 is better than a 3060 right? Right? A PS5 is more like a 2060 and performs worse than a 1060 in tons of games (see: gamersnexus comparison video). A 3060 with DLSS 4 is a very capable card. The 8 cores ryzens tend to have higher clocks and in the case of the 5700x3d it's vastly more performance than a 5600x.

I just prefer playing on consoles. I'm aware closed platform, less power, Sony is fuckin your ass whatever but I just prefer it.

I think part of it is just being on a computer for up to 40 hours a week at work makes me associate it with work. Gaming at a desk I mean. I tried the whole "computer in the living room" thing for awhile, but I would always end up plugging in a keyboard and mouse to fix something, and it wasn't the flop on the couch with a controller experience I wanted.

And there is no temptation to alt-tab, the whole internet isn't just waiting for you. I can focus on the game. My back is also fucked up, I had a T3 to L3 spinal fusion, titanium and cobalt chrome rods all the way down, which makes every day kind of shit but especially sitting in a chair. Couch is bliss.

There is also the physical games aspect, which make little sense in the era of constant updates, but I like the cute little boxes.

So weird blog post but my point is no if you like playing games on a PC it makes no sense to get a Gaystation Why(do you have no games).
