And I say this with 100% seriousness. I think it’s way better than Persona. I can’t take Megaten fans seriously anymore after they snubbed this game.

I just really like the battle system
you, have a set amount of ap each turn and you can decide to attack with the same character multiple times or spread as you wish and attack with everyone

you get these magic orbs you equip to characters to use magic ant the different combinations let you do different stuff, so like if you have 2 water orbs you get lv2 water magic or if you have like 2 water orbs and a wind one you get access to new magic. reminds of djinns in golden sun a bit

weapons have special effects and they have this battle network style navi cust grid where you can augment your stats

theres like team attacks, you can move around to set spots during battle, it has what are essentially summons, boss fights are actually difficult. just try it see if you like it

It’s an SRPG with free 3D moment. You also solve puzzles during exploration segments. I think the story is really good, and tackles its themes with more maturity than something like Persona. It’s centered around Egotism. The plot has you trapped in a school with people that got powers after forming pacts with demons. It’s all very familiar dark urban fantasy stuff, but the way they craft the story is what stands out.
I’d recommend trying the demo, or just emulating the Switch version, assuming it runs.

the plot and characters were alright but the reason SMT gets more attention is because it also has the gameplay variety and presentation to back it up
