Try these steps, which have helped other users:
Check Your Charger and Cable
Use the official Steam Deck charger or a USB-C charger rated at least 45W.
Try a different cable and charger to rule out hardware issues.
Force Restart the Steam Deck
Hold the power button for 10–16 seconds to force a reset.
Enter Battery Storage Mode and Reset
Hold the Volume + button and press Power to enter BIOS.
In the BIOS, find the battery/power menu and enable "storage mode."
Shut down, plug in the charger, and power on to exit storage mode and reset the charging circuit.
Check for Loose Internal Connections
If comfortable, open the back cover and carefully reseat the battery cable and SSD.
Disconnect the battery, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect and try charging again.
Update Software
If you can power on, check for system updates in Settings > System > Check for Updates.
Check Battery Health
In Desktop Mode, check the battery health in the system info center.
