K. Rool was a villain that defined the DKC games. Mainly, the push for him in Smash Bros. was to gain exposure to people who didn't know or didn't care to know about what made him so appealing. There have been games without K. Rool, so Bananza will just be business as usual.

Yeah, of course. Odyssey was pretty much the only game I really loved on Switch. I don't think Bananza looks like Odyssey 2, but rather it feels like they're finally elevating Donkey Kong to a flagship franchise with the same high level production quality, polish and creativity.
