Did they do something about 1's complete lack of viable combos? That was my main complaint with it. By the time you take two swings out of your upgraded 4-5 hit combo, you need to back off from your target or try to parry, which interrupts the combo.

So whats actually better enough about the gameplay? Haven't played blasphemous in ages and didnt like it that much when I did play it, but the ost indeed did always stick with me and i listened to the entire thing again a couple weeks ago when i needed background music it was great. But music is easy to disconnect from the experience of a game, and I value gameplay more in my videogames than...not gameplay (music)

I put off any interest in the second game because i figured not only would it not be that different from the first game (literally saw a playthrough fighting the same enemies from the first) But also because it has heavy heavy fast travel, and its almost a rule that any metroidvania with fast travel has bad exploration because they dont understand exploration.

I guess I could tolerate that if the gameplay is unique and engaging enough, but most importantly...isnt a one dimensional generic combat combat combat is all we know how to design in our metroidvania because we are creatively bankrupt, oh and throw in some basic platforming that will never meaningfully challenge you while at it.

As an spaniard, this game its the exception mostly because they didn't grab any literally who and underpaid them. Blasphemous and Bobobo are the only examples of spanish dub done right

The only publishers that uses real voice actors and not the cheapest shit around are Sony, Ubi, EA and sometimes Capcom. The problem is that vidya dubbing is usually done only with the script on hand and no video feed, so very often you'd hear voice tones that don't match the scene. Blasphemous was a bit different since the recording process was assisted by the devs themselves, and it shows.
On a side note, regarding VAs, the guy who voices Deogracias also voices Bayek in AC Origins and it's Daniel Craig's usual voice. That guy is probably the best current VA and nails evething. His Bayek work leaves every other voice in the game in the dust.
