To what extent? As the main playable character, party member, a boss? Would this be a fighting game, dating sim, open world, or gacha action RPG?

Just to use Dragon's Dogma 2 for example, the inclusion of a beast race wasn't enough to hook furry friends I have. Any interactions with the priest lady on the left had the depth of a shallow puddle...though admittedly they gooned for the Sphinx.

Anyways, if there's no meaningful meat to a beast characters inclusion, the game will still be mid at best.
