When your game is about half cutscenes thats a problem, FFX has like 20 hours of cutscenes and the game takes 45 hours to beat, thats insane amount of cutscenes.
Cutscenes found a way to be good recently with the dialogue choice and interaction buttons that keeps the player engaged with whats happening, but even that can't save a game when it goes 50% cutscenes.
FFX cutscenes are not just normal cutscenes, they are long and overly animated, often taking way longer than they should because it was early into PS2 generation and they didn't have the knowledge to do them better, they are poorly paced and directed and the voice acting is bad and cheesy, the camera angles are not that good either, suffice to say its not a good movie game when it comes to cutscenes, not like those juicy Kojima games.
