SONIC MUSIC PLAGIARIZING SCANDAL
Well Well Well

Guess now we know why Sonic's music was always so good huh? Bunch of frauds
Just like the old DBZ games...
A lot of Japanese composers do this.

Bro like 90% of awesome Japanese chip tunes from the 4th/5th gen is just straight stealing melodies and sound fonts from 80s pop/dance music. the on board sound processors on the SNES and Genesis were mini-Yamahas it was always an easy sound to emulate
Some of them obviously went too far and just straight up copied it but it was always a stolen sound. And I don't care because campy synth is the best musical sound ever created

The sad fact is no one really cares about originality, that's why AI slop is so popular right now.
I don't know if you're being serious with the accusations, but careful OP. There are suits and other accountants who lurk these sites in the hopes of finding something that infringes copyright or anything that can build a case for a lawsuit.

>>714632867 is a good example of the former, as was that shit with Rock Howard's theme and Robert Miles' "children". Not stealing a song wholesale, but taking a large enough part to where you're not sure if they're paying an homage or just ripping it off.

Here's one I don't think I've ever seen brought up before. Composers (not even just with vidya) do this all the fucking time and it's not ever really worth the hassle to make it a huge legal problem unless it's blatant sampling and said sample goes uncredited (see Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure)

Just admit it.
You all only bitch about plagiarism because you like watching people seethe and abusing any opportunity to get some composer/producer/whoever in a lot of trouble. I mean yeah, it's funny, but
None of you, or at least most of you, don't actually give a shit. Foremost reason is why would you? You're a fucking /v/irgin, there's no fucking way you're serious about it LMAO get fucking real. I know some of you would deny that but I know it's to maintain the facade for the other would-be anons to bite your bait anyway because that's what it's all about, right? Second, however, is that if you truly did understand what it means to plagiarize, then you must also understand that it's largely, but not completely, a nebulous concept. Sure, people like Kenji Yamamoto kinda just said fuck it and those examples are pretty bad, but many other cases I feel like aren't really cases at all, and are at worst opportunities for big labels and corporations to bully small people (which is analogus to the first point so I understand if that's still your fun and games). There are no original ideas anymore anyway. Sure, there's infinite possible note combinations that can form melodies, but we're several centuries into written music and, especially since DAWs came around, the shit just pours out.
Pours, pours, pours out.
Toby Fox used a small tidbit of Pokey Means Business in Omega Flowey's theme, and Megalovania uses literal samples from the same song, especially as the same song was originally a literal goddamn edit of the song for his EB hack. Is it plagiarism? Stealing?
I don't know, ask Nintendo of all fucking people. Sakurai still put the latter in fucking Smash.
It's just what-fucking-ever, man. It's all bullshit. This isn't even technically aimed at the trolls, it's just aimed at anyone still taking this seriously. I'm spoonfeeding you. Take this as your once in a blue moon sobering rant. I'm crossfaded as a mf btw that's probably why I did this gdoo night
