Man, landing here every match with the goal of killing everyone was the quickest way to improve at game as a solo or a team. Managing to dominate the area felt euphoric. I wonder how many boomershooters fans missed out on the gem that was the 1st year of Fortnite due to kiddie stigma and being contrarian. It unironically had some great renditions of arena shooter gameplay.

Such a simple design that comes in 400 different flavors.

I think I played a UMS version of this called Phantom. One random player called the phantom would get free gas and minerals at a certain rate. Other players have to figure out who the phantom is and kill them before the phantom kills everyone else.

Green shells were insane in this game, they just would infinity bounce off walls. In this stage in particular, the ground level becomes a death pit with all the missed green shells bouncing around.

Amazing how such a shit map ended up being almost as popular as 2fort. no health or ammo kits and some of the longest sniper sightlines ever but everyone still loved it. My personal favorite variant was cp_orange_basement which added a giant tunnel underneath the point giving each team a chokepoint to fight over and a way to avoid the snipers.

Despite how barebones it is there's space for every class. Soldier, scout, spy, and sniper can play in the large open areas. Engie and Pyro chill on the roof. Demo, medic, and heavy hold the inside of the house. etc etc.

i'm one of those guys that liked BF2142. It still had the bf2 TTK and gunplay feel with asymmetrical factions. the jump onto the enemy space ship maps were garbage though. When the game launched the ships originally could be piloted and flown around the map, but if players were inside on foot the rubber banding was so bad it was unplayable. They released a patch super quick and disabled their ability to move, permanently.
