>>714642026 (OP)I can't stand these interviews by CNBC, Bloomberg, Washington Post and the like. You can tell they have no clue and no care about the interviews and are just rolling through the questions they've been told to ask. Too many stupid questions.
Anyone wanting to make a new console needs to target a specific older era.
modern-retro consoles are the only avenue for new ones.

apparently Saturn was -the- premiere console for otaku games and fanservice
but with how RGG, Sega Division 3, and probably other devs under them are now far too chummy with westerners, I doubt SEGA would ever return to that
>>714642939Which is right up Sega's alley. Someone will fill the void Xbox is leaving. Sega Strikes Back.
Nintendo would shit the bed if they made an actual new console and locked all their Sega and Atlus games there as exclusives. If people wanted to play the new persona, sonic, yakuza, etc they would all be forced to buy the console but it would also create a lot of outrage and hatred towards Sega because only Nintendo gets to do that and everyone else that does exclusives is bad

The more I think about it, the more Iโm mixed on sega ever entering the console war again, mainly because Iโd miss their games on other consoles and I still donโt have enough faith in the sonic seriesโ consistency nowadays for it to be a console seller

Also I don't see Sega suddenly no longer willing to put their Sonic games and old classic games on Nintendo like they always do, or their Persona games on Xbox/PlayStation. Yakuza I could see going Sega console PC, mobile only though
>>714643882To add to this though, I do think Sega is better off not jumping back in to consoles. Hardware manufacturing costs would be way too high for one, but I really just don't think the appetite is there for a Sega box anymore when PlayStation and Nintendo have it taken care of. You could say that Sega could differentiate by bring the arcade box or something, but since nobody really goes after those anymore, it'd be a losing strategy.
