even high end hardware ran into issues. it was a launch plagued by many things. yea Cyberpunk required good hardware to run to avoid basic issues ruining the experience, but the game was genuinely incredibly unpolished at launch. always remember in the world of PCs that any system can get away scot-free, and any system can be met with issues.
All things considered, the console release was a blatant scam, how they even thought that could be shipped is beyond me. The actual game beyond those issues was an overall really enjoyable experience, but if your introduction is filled with problems all it does is turn people away.

Edgerunners was the perfect storm that was helped by people having zero expectations for it. Good luck to them catching that same lightning in a bottle again. Best I am hoping for is that it is an entirely separate unconnected story and characters so it doesn't somehow retroactively shit up the first season. At most I don't mind seeing some of the fallout of what happened in the first season but I don't want it to be trying to properly interact with it.

To me edgerunners seems barely finished and the story is almost a parody with how aimless or rushed it is after the first episode. Even in that first episode the production avoided exploring much of any of the city which felt cheap. A sequel could easily be better with a more unique story that shows more of the world and doesn't devolve into super deformed cartoon absurdity.

I haven't played CP in like a year and I'm tempted to get into it again but man, are those story missions ever fucking painful.

you can do something like that with cyber EX for extra cyberware slots, but you will need to edit the config file manually. the comments on nexus for the mod guide you through it.
if you want to make the extra slots unlocked by various perks you will need to set that up manually and have the right names.
there is a line of code you can look up that you can type into CET ingame and it will scrape all the names, but its a bit of a pain to read and understand.
once you learn the format you don't need the list, but its hard to explain in a post.

the mod is mainly about giving him all the cyberware slots he needs.
the codes are very simple, its just about getting the format and names right, though there is a slight visual glitch for the hand slots...
Also, if you go for some extra cyberware from a guy who makes this stuff called "black chrome" you will need to do some additional editing of the r6 scripts to make his shit compatible with say, economy 2077.
its just deleting a file and some sections where he adds his own stuff to mod economy stuff that does NOT play nice with anything else. the comments will point it out.

There is some old mods like "legendary collection for cyberware, and I would avoid them if you want to play the 2.0+ versions of the game.
Those mods are old and don't really work right with how the game was changed between 1.7 and 2.0.
there is also a nice armor behavior mod that gives you some decent curves for armor buildup so you are still working to get every bit of armor possible late game from your cyberware.
