SotN is a 10/10, Bloodstained is an 8/10 at best.

Bloodstained has better progression and gameplay variety just due to the fact that it's the (current) most recent Igavania game that incorporates everything from SotN+GBAvanias+DSvanias.

SotN has tertiary factors that still make it a high-tier game (objectively better music, art, graphics, Rondo/CV3 fanservice etc.). But by virtue of being the first "igavania" style game, it's missing some features from the later handheld games that made them more fun/replayable than SotN.

About Bloodstained anyone else HATE the graphics? And dare I say it the graphics look uglier in the sequel. Such hideous visuals is why I can't stand the game.

Reminds me of how much I hated the remake Maverick Hunter X the graphics are so soulless.

And I'm not even just going off of music/art whatever the gameplay's also better. There's a lot of movement tech the average player doesn't really engage with so they just assume the game is walking and jumping, but no you can definitely do shit and the more you know the more fun actually navigating the castle is.

This. For these kinds of games you really need lively visuals and pixels deliver on that. In the case of Bloodstained doesn't help that when they use portrait renders for the characters they also don't seem too expressive either further making the game feel lifeless and drab.
