The whole point of SKG is that users should have some solution to play the software they bought after EOL, after the company no longer controls it. That doesn't mean they control the software, it just means that they have a level of rights over what they bought. You can have partial control over the software you bought (i.e. with private servers), but it's not all or nothing.
The publisher has control over the IP, not the product. That's the whole point of EOL. They are DROPPING SUPPORT, which is DROPPING OWNERSHIP. They are no longer selling the product. However, they have ALREADY sold it. That's the loophole.

Open source = good. Proprietary = dogshit. Games can only improve if things went open source, and we might even get something going over in the overall software sector if this actually passes.
