SH2 is solid from start to end. MGS2 has a great ending but the start is whatever, nobody even talks about the ship and that's like a third of the game.
Planescape Torment is a lot of reading. It gets a little exhausting to walk two steps and then have another 14 paragraphs dumped on you by another unnamed nobody.
Disco Elysium is a fun time but the plot is so absolutely trash that nobody even pretends that it's anything but an excuse to talk shit. And understands that country bumpkins aren't going to immediately spout endless purple prose.

If we're talking pure narrative craftsmanship that actually takes advantage of being interactive, it's Disco Elysium. You're not just watching a story unfold - you're actively dismantling your own brain while trying to hold together a personality shaped by your awful choices and worse ideologies.
