It was extremely ugly when I played it on PC. This was back when it first got the PC port and my PC was plenty good enough to play it. Just the lighting and detail seemed incomplete. I've seen videos of the console versions too and it seemed like the same thing, there's just something really inconsistent about the graphics that makes it look awful to me even for the time, we've seen way better.
The highly detailed facial animations just make it worse like here's this ultra realistic thing on top of ugly graphics.

Is the PC port fixed yet? I remember the driving physics breaking if you went over 30fps.

holy kino. I genuinely wanted to replay it back during the rona but the key I got was only for the version in the Rockstar of david store, and they didn't allow games to be modded.

really wish we could get LA Noire but actually good. too much to ask probably, even at the level it was at, there's hardly any games nowadays that compare.

For starters, remove the open world so you can focus on what matters.

Let you go into more buildings and live as Phelps for a bit. Go visit your German floozy and hang solve smaller crimes with your cop buddies, but the bigger ones are the chapters in the main game.

Yeah graphics are all over the place, good facial animations on low res face textures, and low drawing distance, the constant pop in was very bad. Wish there was a remaster for the PC, or at least mods that tried fixing those problems, but apparently the game is too hard/impossible to mod, all I've found was a bunch of reshade and sweetFX presets.

on that I disagree, the funnest, most exhilarating experience is running the police car through the side walk, massacring pedestrians while your partner berates you desperately or with mild scripted annoyance. I know it was unintentional but it's absolutely hilarious to me
