>had no impact on video game history or culture as a whole other "LOL CARDBOARD BOXES" and "METUHLL GEERE?!?!?!"
>the games were merely a moment in time
>between 2015 and 2023, the series became partially obscure to anyone below the age of 30
>kojima fandrones still treat him like a good despite his relative irrelevance in the gaming medium
If people forgot about the series in 8 years, just imagine 30 years from now when all the drones are senile.

I haven't seen a single human mention this series outside of this board since 2015.

If we're gonna talk culture, then basically no video games other than Mario and Pacman is culture. No Sonic. You heard me the first time. Space Invaders is more culture than Sonic.

Pacman and Space Invaders are also relics. They were culturally relevant to their generation. Mario and some other bingshit will be eternal.

Kojima is the David Lynch of video games and anyone ANYONE who doesn't respect his work is a brainlet retard

Unlike film, video games are culturally fleeting and tied to technology. Kojima is a fart-huffing gloryhog and he will be forgotten, just like his games.

It's weird to think people maliciously daydream about video game producers like this

Kojima isn't like David Lynch at all.
David Lynch's schtick was realizing that if you put literally meaningless symbolism that was purposefully made to not have some discernible, hidden meaning, that you would appeal to a decently sized audience of mentally ill semiotics autists that look for, and find, meaning in TV static.
Kojima creates frankenstories by cutting out and stitching together entire sections of movies and anime he thought were cool, with purposefully no concern for how they fit together. It's why his games rollercoaster between being cool and lame, or from being prophetically intelligent to being braindead fucking retard nonsense, because they're just stitched together ideas from other artists.

It hasn't influenced anything. The JRPG genre was already doing cinematics long before MGS was a thing. No game tries to be MGS. Stealth games are all based on Asscreed and Arkham Asylum, which were more similar to Splinter Cell, not MGS. The truth hurts. MGS was just a moment in time. No impact. No influence.

Are you trying to convince yourself? or did you just want an excuse to equal him as a god without saying so yourself?
You are the one who seem to believe games should be remembered over generations. It's not because one can namedrop "Mario" that anyone still care about the original one, or any other if Nintendo didn't force-feed it to the fan like a religion.

It's true that as a developer Kojima opinions are more valuable than a hack like Todd Howard, but really, fan just know what to expect from him and it's consistently well above average.

Nice bait in any case.

To be fair, he still got you to answer in defense as if it was needed.
>Death Stranding 2 outperform without the "novelty appeal"
>noooo! he is a hack! if his games aren't remembered for a bazillion years with 25 sequels, prequel and alt-game it mean it is crap.

I think OP is just a fanboy giving himself a pretext to talk good about Kojima. You know, false flag as a retarded troll so you are allowed to say good thing about a game of a dev. OP could as well be you or me.

All Ghillied Up. It was a level no one wanted to make in COD4, since it sounded boring. The level designer who decided to take on the level wrote AI script based on MGS, despite not being experienced with coding AI, so much that when Zampella heard about it, came and asked "what the fuck are you doing". Founds out the mission was actually shaping up very well.

Kojima was literally gaming Jesus Christ for a decade. He less fell off, and more of other devs found the "new thing" in the 2010s with the surge of Miyazaki and From Soft, and the rise of indie games.
DS2 I think is proof that the magic is still there, he just needs time to cook.
