They already did that. Dragons Dogma 1 was shit. Then we waited for them to make a not shit version with 2, and it took a decade. It came out, it was EVEN MORE shit.
There will never be a good Dragons Dogma.

>Dragons Dogma 1 was shit
My only complaint about DD1 was that there wasn't more of it along with static enemy spawns and a bad healing/item use system.
I have way more complaints about DD2 which feels actually incomplete as opposed to DD1's rough around the edges.

it's impossible to save it without remake it on another engine, the REtarded engine just cursed this and MHwilds.
On top of that this game has no content, half of the enemies are just repeted versions of themselves, and also just copies of enemies from the first game.

I would compare this game to deadly premonition, first game is a obscure rough gem, and the devs decided to make a sequel to something that they themselves didn't quite make it, it was just luck, the originals sucked(mostly) but the combined of everything made it unique, and devs can't just replicate luck.

My complaints are the shallow rpg mechanics, the lack of romance options, and the limited pawn personalities. The combat and exploration were decent, not as many choices for classes sucked, but I think everything would be improved if the rpg elements were actually fleshed out. I have I think like 60-100 hours and never cared to finish the story. I thought it was funny they made the orphan girl obsessed with you in whiterun. Classic jap fantasy world

Ah, Dragon's Dogma II, my beloved.
One of the most disappointing and frustrating, yet also most inspiring games I have ever played. It is so disappointing because its untapped potential is nigh infinite. This is a 6.5/10 game that eclipses some 10/10 games. I'm getting into game dev because of Dragon's Dogma, and I will not stop until I have made a fantasy 3d beat em up with martial arms.

I think you can, but you can't throw them iirc. You can enter a stance that your friend or pawn can press a button for you to vault them into the air, and they can grab onto a large monster from that. Stuff like that.

if you stagger a small enemy you can pick it up and throw it wherever your stamina permits.
you can always pick up your pawns and throw them.
yes, there's explosive barrels to throw around and you need them to break through some weak walls.

I genuinely can't remember if you can throw small enemies. I don't think so. You can throw barrels. It might be class specific. Don't get hung up on that though. Damage numbers can't be toggled, I don't think. But all of that is so superficial when you play it and feel the potential of multiplayer DD combat.

Ugh, I swear, trying to grab small enemies in Dragon's Dogma Online is a nightmareโ€”and don't even get me started on how it's somehow always Warwick Davis's fault. These pint-sized goblins and nimble imps are skittering around like caffeinated squirrels, and every time I lunge to grab one, my character just flails in the air like a fool. I wouldn't be surprised if Warwick Davis himself motion-captured their movementsโ€”tiny, evasive, and maddeningly smug. Itโ€™s like the whole game is a Warwick Davis conspiracy to make sure I never land a grab. Iโ€™m starting to think the devs watched Willow, got inspired, and said, โ€œYeah, letโ€™s make all the small enemies infuriatingly slippery, just like that guy!โ€ Honestly, if I miss one more grab on a knee-high gremlin, Iโ€™m going to start blaming Warwick personally in the patch notes.

The first playthrough is fine. Maybe a little light on the monster variety but good for 80ish hours. NG+ is where the game falls apart tho. No new gear, no new monsters, no new quests or literally anything. It's just a victory lap for your powered up character.

Fighter is really fun, but a very basic class. It has a lot of skills to use, but early on you mainly use a charge forward move, and a backstep/counter. Later you get a more powerful counter and I forget what else. Like I said, very basic.

Warrior is more fun, it's like Greatsword from Monster Hunter. Slow attacks and positioning yourself, and cracking the monsters head open when it's downed. I could go on and on, but you'll just say why it's bad so Idk why I bother.

Orc enemies seem completely immune to getting knocked back or down and only stagger (Level 75 vs 35)

Seems exactly what people that played DD1 like retards would say it was. Mindless skill spam.

Is that not better? If you are alone in your opinion, more shit games will be made. If everyone hates it, more won't get made. Doesn't help DD2, but it stops more shit from existing.

I'm only focusing on what the player does and the enemies. You don't even understand the basis of my criticism.

This felt like DD at its very core. Until you drop your boner when a fleeing enemy is invulnerable. It seems like the game can't escape common mmo-isms. Zero grappling or holding enemies so far too.

it's fun at first, yes, but gets stale after a while.
the fucking stamina bar for giant enemies is so retarded, it removes all the fun in fighting them.
they realized that and made it so the corrupted only have those spots, that grow out of their bodies, you have to destroy to weaken them.

Oh I actually forgot the coolest part. There is tech. For example, the Hunter has a backstep, and it can be used kind of like Reset from DD1. So you have other skills that take time to set up, but you can backstep to animation cancel, and it is vital for playing Hunter to it's maximum potential. So you are constantly managing your animations and positioning and choosing the right skill for the moment. It's like driving a manual race car.

Sure, enemies are invulnerable while leashing. It would make the game braindead if not. It IS an mmo, but the combat is DD. Is that not enough for you? The combat is better than DD1 and DD2 because they fleshed out every class. I haven't even talked about Alchemist. I mean, it's just such a good game.

>It IS an mmo, but the combat is DD. Is that not enough for you?
No obviously because mmo design takes a huge chunk out of the combat. No idea how you can just handwave enemies being invulnerable so easily as a combat complaint. Changing where you fight is combat 101. You seem to have completely different standards. And I'm not even insulting DDO, but just coming out and saying it's combat is better than the other games is a bit much.
>I haven't even talked about Alchemist
Seemed cool until I saw that perfectly blocking an attack makes you literally invulnerable for 10 whole seconds. This kind of balancing is only possible because the game is an mmo and not as pure of an action game.

The first half is great, the second half is very obviously an unfinished hack job band-aid to rush it out the door. Which stings all the more after Itsuno went on record stating that DD2 is feature complete and "the game he wanted to make", however, the first game suffers similarly so the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
Capcom have pretty much refused to acknowledge the game even exists since it released and have enshrined their reputation as the gayest fucking faggots ever.
Dragon's Dogma 1 and 2 are among my favourite games but I still mourn what could have been.
