I think a Yakuza game that takes after Grand Theft Auto Online would be kino, whether it be a Brawler or RPG I think making my own guy dress up in a suit and going down the streets of Kamurocho/a New city with friends would be fun.

I really miss when this series was niche

I just think it's sad that we no longer get any good GTA clones. A GTA type game in Tokyo would be absolutely kino but none of the American developers are talented enough to do it and the Japanese ones have some moral code about not killing random civilians.

If Take Two had any type of competition they'd have released GTA VI back in 2019

Dear lord no. It being singleplayer is why it's fun. As soon as it goes online now you can't savescum minigames, now you have to grind, now you have dailies, now you get locked from doing basic things like unlocking basic mechanics. We should never get an RDRO/GTAO situation.

We already had that in both Black Panther 1 and 2 with BP2 itself having an entire multiplayer mode like you're asking. It's fairly boring because there's not much to do outside of fight or do minigames.

The Seiryu Clan, Liumang, and Geomijul are introduced as bad but are revealed to be necessary for Yokohama to function and that their leaders are all decent people underneath it all despite their backgrounds.

>Zhao is a good boy chef who just wants to make things right in the city and doesn't actually like being raised as the leader of the Chinese mafia in Japan.
>Seonhee is a good assassin who just wants to help the outcast assassins who are being hunted by their assassin family from Korea find a home and life in Japan.
They also very quickly reveal that the assassin you thought got killed early on in 7 wasn't killed at all after the fact. Then in 8 they even make it so even Sawashiro (The main villain of RGGO and a major antagonist in 7 mind you) was actually a good boy assassin who actually had no problems with Ichiban, didn't kill his mom, actually kept her safe, and actually worked against Ebina's acts helping everyone.

The only actual bad criminals are those working under Ryo Aoki, and even from that respect Tendo and Ishioda cared more about honor and the Omi Alliance than being evil or doing bad things.

Not at all, that's entirely dependent on the writer's competency. It could be a choose-your-own story, where your choices change you end in the underworld. If they go the RPG route then it's the easiest thing they can do. Brawler may be a tad bit different and may be more linear, but that'll allow the MC to not be generic at all.

It's not like it messes with any continuity now that the in-game characters are getting retired

You understand what brand you're talking about, right? Choose-your-own stories would never work from them because they're very twist-heavy and everything would end up converging on twists.
