When will we ever get another medieval fantasy mercenary simulator?
This game is ludokino but I've exhausted all it's content multiple times.

Wartales doesn't count because it's a horribly optimized boring buggy mess.

Nice reading comprehension
Have fun restarting Wartales every 2 hours to reset the memory leak.

inb4 faggots buttblasted because 95 does not equal 100
>>714677592
wartales is decent, but it tries to be too rpg-ey, the crafting and job bloat is terrible and the encounters are super boring, no tactics whatsoever
the devs had no clear idea what they wanted to make
anyway, not a bad casual timekiller for an hour daily

Wartales is the inferior game, it has job bloat and almost no enemy variety in comparison just to name a few.
It's also stupid how weapons have 1 attack skill that is either single target or aoe by default without being able to adapt to the situation.

Right?
Why even have a lumberjack skill in specific?
Why does every activity outside of combat require you to have a dedicated mercenary for it?
It makes sense for cooking and alchemy at least, but fucking fishing???

If it means anything dude, I’m still here with you. I dream of mercenary company games. I use AI text adventures to cope with the lack of supply

Pretty much this. I wish I could enjoy BB but it is a good concept with poor design, in the end.

You can look into We who are About to Die or Gladiator Guild Manager. They're not what you're looking for, but but they may come close.

I also want to deploy units in auto-battles using statistics and apply upgrades to units, mourn units when they die, and optimize their loadouts and upgrades in response to the sort of missions I'm being fed. But no one has fucking made this game, and Battle Brothers certainly isn't it.

eh, I'd personally prefer something more like Dwarf Fortress adventure mode where you can have a impact on the world.
For example, you can depopulate settlements because every NPC is persistent, and that does have a impact on the economy and shit.

Im making something similar as a hobby, but a mercenary troop would be one option out of a few you could pick.
Concept is that >you control a relatively small group of individuals in what would be similar to 4xgame world.
But for the time being, Im still working on the basic combat loop, as I want to make sure that its fun before I waste my time on other stuff

Have you made any other games that are available on steam? or maybe itch.io?

Its dogshit only because you cant plan the positions of deployment before the fight, everyone starts out spread out for no fucking reason and the whole battle end up a bunch of of 2v2 and 3v3 all over the place no matter how much dudes are in the battle. If they rework that shit it would make the game 100x better

A sandbox medieval game where you manage a mercenary band souns like such an obvious video game setting its surprising there's so few games about it.

Pic related has been on my wishlist for a while but even the good reviews say its not that great, so ive been hesitant
