Metroid Prime Remastered was a mistake. Now zoomers after experiencing Magmoor Crapverns and Fagzon Mines won't buy Prime 4. Don't expect sales to be amazing.

Corruption might have surpassed Prime is the hypermode mechanic wasn't so integral to the gameplay. Echoes is a straight upgrade from Prime for everyone who wanted more than a walking sim out of the experience. I can't take away the beautiful graphics + OST from Prime, but the combat leaves a lot to be desired.

Have sales for the Metroid games ever been amazing? Do they ever sell more than like 3 million copies? I mean that is the reason why the Metroid franchise isn't getting entries pumped out of Nintendo's asshole every year, right? Metroid is one of those franchises where it gets 1 game every generation from now on just because it counts as an exclusive franchise for Nintendo with a well established name and reputation.

The backtracking in Prime is unbearable and the designer of Magmoor Caverns should be skinned alive. At least they should have added a boss there because there is fucking nothing from Thardus to Omega Pirate. You know, the completely out of place Incinerator Drone should have been moved from Chozo Ruins to Magmoor given they were unable to add a big boss and that would have made the pacing better.

Magmoor was supposed to have a boss initially. If i'm remembering correctly, thardus was at one point going to be the magmoor boss and the phendrana boss was a fuck huge sheegoth. Oh and the original phazon mines boss was meta kraid but they couldn't get it to work or something

if prime 3 didnt turn every area into hallways and its weapon variety wasnt fucked by hypermode it would easily be the best of the trilogy

Prime 1 feels like an unfinished proof of concept that's also frightened to stray too far from aping Super Metroid. Echoes unforunately has that experimental/filler game feeling but at least respects player intelligence far more than the first game.
The third game is by far the most complete package.

a gigantic userbase doesn't equal to good sales especially once the new shiny toy is out and there are a trillion switch 1 games available, meanwhile the switch 2 has just one game, soon Bananza and Prime 4 should be the third game but if it comes out close to Pokemon it could be a disaster

Xenoblade 2 launched close to Mario Odyssey and was a big jump for the series in sales, being an early/year 1 launch title is more important than being distanced from a big title, especially if you can squeeze it in for the holidays
