Deathclaws are a natural evolution, and as such the ones that got sterilized by the FEV obviously failed to pass on their genes and died out. Super mutants are artificial and created by the Master, and he failed to account for every variable. Super mutants aren't even actually sterile, super mutant men shoot swimmers and super mutant women have egg cells. The actual problem is the fact that the super mutants have a boosted immune system, and thus the female super mutant's immune system kills the sperm before impregnation can occur. The master could have and would have figured out a way to fix it, if the vault dweller didn't stop him.
