the only time strangers could and would have a random chat in this game was during ARR
now everyone is so shit-scared of offending eachother they talk exclusively in their linkshells or over discord, which is why it looks like everyone is AFK
this briefly ended during eureka because it was that oldschool mindless grinding playstyle that (almost, the game is ironically too fast) facilitated chatting while you played
