It's a tech demo game, outside of wowing you with it's visuals the game has no reason to exist and that appeal is very short-term. The visuals have aged like milk, and now there is literally no reason to ever play Shenmue aside from historical curiosity. You can't even play it for the story, since the story will never be finished.

OOT was a unique game when it first released, nothing really played like it despite the game looking like ass even by N64 standards. BOTW however is just Nintendo's equivalent of a Ubislop game, but arguably worse. It's far less original, and is lacking in a lot of ways even compared to OOT.
