"Where the fuck do I go" kind of game
What was their problem with implementing a minimap? Everything looks the same and I'm getting lost all the time.

You are the problem, ADHD Ubishit consumer.

The entire foreground maps are just generic Unreal Asset pack objects anon, every part of the dungeons except the sky boxes look the same.

It was designed by morons.

the maps aren't very complicated, the main issue is that i keep looking at lune's feet instead of my surroundings so i end up going in circles

>the skyboxes are different
then use the sky to navigate, like your ancestors used the stars.
regardless, the proper path forward for progression is brighter than side paths 9/10 times.
and even if you feel lost like its some kind of maze, hug a wall. pick one side and just stick to it and eventually you'll find your way out. its not a hard concept. if you're problems, you might just be retarded.

If you get lost in a linear map, you might have some kind of mental problem.
Anonymous No.714706145 [Report]
Apparently, a lot of japanese people had this as a major complaint.

>"Where the fuck do I go"
You follow the lamps/light sources, literally "following the light", and in every map you'll always be following the main path to the story/boss. Every path without light sources is a sideroute.
I had figured this out by Flying Waters. How the fuck do you go through the Lampmaster corridor and still not get it?

you genuinely have to be retarded to need a minimap in this game

the levels are like 30 min long with linear paths and lamps that point the direction to the main route

the over-world is maybe 2 ways you can go until Act 3 where you can fly anywhere in 30 seconds

> “It makes it boring,” Sandfall CEO and Expedition 33 creative director Guillaume Broche said during an interview. “When I played Final Fantasy 10, I just look at the mini-map. I don’t enjoy the environment. I don’t remember the level design. I just remember the maps.” He went on to explain that, despite his dislike of mini-maps, he uses them when available simply because they are there. And so, when designing Clair Obscur, Sandfall didn't add a mini-map and instead took inspiration from games like Dark Souls, which rely on environmental cues and memory to guide fans.

> “Yeah, you’re going to miss stuff. Yes, you’re not going to find all the secret passages. That’s the beauty of RPGs – missing stuff,” he explained. “When you stop the game and are like ‘Oh, maybe I should have gone to this little pass that I saw before, maybe there was something.’ Then, you remember all the game, all the level design and everything, and it makes the exploration a lot better.”

Hating things that are nearly universal appealing means there is something wrong with you.
Maybe your dopamine receptors are fried. Maybe you need to find something else to do with your time for a little while.
What it isn't is a healthy response.

It's so people don't realize that it's as linear as FFXIII and FFX. People are stupid and will only notice dungeons are a straight line with a few branching paths for treasure if there's a minimap.
