a few developers have given opinions on it here and there. chet faliszek, one of the writers for much of valve's golden age has made a series of bizarre screeds about how much he hates it and ross scott calling it "gamergate 2."
The lead dev of ultrakill has repeatedly voiced strong support for it as have a few other indies.
