I don't care. I used trainer for achievements in dark souls. I load save if I lose in Total War. I use cheats for collectables in Elder Scrolls. I also use mods.

You can use save states for practice runs. Streamers do it all the time. That said you're supposed to then do a "clean run" of the game without said states.

about 20 hours into FF10 on steamdeck and you bet your ass I'm using save states, fuck some of the space out of save points the game gives you in between harder battles. I play in bed a lot, so fuck playing another hour to reach a save point.

You're probably right but my time is a bit tight and the fun to me, is just overcoming the challenge and seeing more of the story. All my chars are levelled and I have a good understanding of the weakness system and using Tidus' buffs to really shift the battles in my favor. So it's not like I'm cheating at the game itself, I'm just using a QOL save feature.
