Blood elves getting turned black is proof that the people in charge either don't know the lore or don't care. Dark skinned blood elves were already in the game. They're called the Night Elves. The Blood Elves are the descendants of the Highborne, the old Night Elf nobility that went into exile after the Well of Eternity exploded, and during their exodus before the creation of the Sun Well, the lack of access to mana warped their bodies, causing them to become runty and pale, which is why they're light skinned and shorter than Night Elves.

I would argue that CoD has even diverged heavily from CoD4, which I remember having a kind of anti-war message and wasn't based around run-n-gun gameplay. I remember CoD4 feeling more like Counterstrike, but with prone and aim-down-sights

It just feels stale to me. Also I think Elden Ring is too hard to be fun. I have to cheese the bosses in order to win. I can beat Dark Souls with nothing but my trusty Claymore but in Elden Ring I have to summon a mimic and hide in the corner and spam OP spells if I want to win. Bosses are just so insane, I feel like my character is in the wrong game and maybe Dante from DMC might fit in better with the new Fromsoft bosses. I preferred the old and deliberate slowness of DkS1 and 2, but ever since Bloodborne Fromsoft wants to go faster and hectic and it's not for me anymore.

There were always "tan" BEs that were playable ever since Burning Crusade. With the exception that dark skinned blood elves are not the same as "blue" Night Elves, or even the Highborne (which we see in the Shen'Dralar of Dire Maul - basically NE's that kept their magical abilities secret from the rest of the race/highborne that didn't follow Azshara, the return to NE Mages and the entire Suramar area of Legion with the Nightborne allied raceunlock ) All that is more or less accurate to the High Elves, but the Blood Elves were those who were there after the Sunwell's destruction/despoiling and needed a new source of mana. For awhile BEs being Horde was because they were the ones who were willing to do things like make Warlock pacts and parasitic The Light from Naaru - if you went the the Paladin trainers you could see them literally draining a captured one of them as I recall; doing stuff that would set them apart from the non-playable, Alliance associated High Elves. However, this would evolve over the years as it is no longer necessary, I don't remember which expansion - maybe the end of BC maybe something later. You also saw what happened to BE's who couldn't get a source of mana, they were common enemies in the BE starter area called the Fallen I think - basically insane , stunted, degenerated versions of Elves who were kind of "gollum"-ish. This would be mirrored in Suramar with the Nightfallen .

What you described is also another retcon. Blood Elves were just the followers of Kael'thas and there weren't supposed to be any left on Azeroth, having entirely moved to Outland. This is why I have a deep suspicion that the original plan was to make Outland just another continent comparable to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, and it was decided later on that it was going to be an entirely 60-70 zone, because both the Draenei and the Blood Elves should just be on Outland, and the Draenei's reason for being on Azeroth is a weird contrivance while the Blood Elves' reason for being back in Quel'thelas is an outright retcon.

But nothing about the Blood Elves suddenly becoming "elves that have used fel magic" would imply that they're black now. Using fel magic doesn't make you swarthy or black. If anything, the suggestion is that if it turns your skin any color, it will be an exotic color like green or red, though previous lore bits suggested that elves exposed to fel magic didn't have their skin color change at all, but would become Satyrs and eventually something like Illidan if they consumed a downright ungodly amount (but Blizzard forgot about that and mad the "fel elves" because they struggled with consistency even then)

The chinks opted out, so no money comes from there anymore, and there is only a very very handful of white neckbeards who still give a fuck after Wotlk. You guys might think that the shotcallers are retarded here, but its quite the opposite.
They know that Changs, jeets, karens and whatever glipglops are employed at the HQ are unable to make a good video game anymore. The neckbears will demand lich king, and an epid adventure which they'll never ever be able to make. The rounder modern Disney-esque designs are unoffensive, the shape language lacks spikes and sharp edges, with this gayness around them so its also perfect for this audience of genderless blobs who will get offended at everything. Everyone who was worth a shit hasn't been involved with western video games since the PS3 launch, so they focus on otherkin types who are usually so unsuccessful IRL, and cream themselves when they see niggers and wheelchairs. This means they'll take any breadcrumb tossed to them, and they have all the time in the world, because they don't possess any valuable skill IRL.

I think the swarthy brown or black thing was just part of the graphical update because BE's had humanish skin tones and, by the time of the update, Burning Crusade had already happened and they were no longer searching for a source of magic because basically the Naaru came in and teabagged themselves in the Sunwell (I think this was post-patch from BC) which now had to be defended against demons, along with how BE Paladins no longer needed to extract power from a captured weakened Naaru and just had the same access to The Light.

Thus, the updated skin tones were just part of every race's updated skin tones - BE ones got brown and black (but not NE tones like blue or puple) because they were vaguely human toned. Conversely, NE got additional skin/hair tones and even eye features. As I recall for awhile in game all the NE females had silver eyes and all the men had golden ones, despite the fact that in the early days of lore as I recall golden eyes were a super rarity for the sort of "blessed by fate to do great things" types including both Malfurion (who was born with silver but had his turn golden/amber when he was blessed by Cenarius to be the first mortal druid I think) and Illidan who had them from birth, as did Queen Azshara (I don't think Tyrande did). There were a lot of things that were changed over years and years from idea to implementation in game like the BE thing you mentioned (ie keeping the BE only the Outland followers of Kael'thas). Its interesting some of the things they keep and others they've changed over the years - Demon Hunters can only be NE or BE, the same two races that were present in the Black Temple as Illidan's DH neophyte guards , but they've done a fuckload of other things over the years some that make sense - like NE Mages after the return of Shen'dralar and the discovery of Suramar, but others like Tauren Paladins before NE Paladins that are kind of strange.
