health and HP both isn't just your entire body's worth of possible damage, it's also a measurement of your luck until the moment it runs out, or your own will to continue.

the reason picking up a small health kit works is because that's all it would take to get the character back in it. maybe a suture kit, some sterile equipment, a shot of painkiller, a small but comprehensive health pack.

Doom 3 is a shit horror game. It's an OK action game, but it is NOT spooky, and it fails every time it tries. Thankfully the Resurrection of Evil devs seemed to get this, and leaned harder into the action than the jumpscares.

It was a retard design choice. Doom 1-2 were not horror games, Doom 3 didn't need to be one either. Doom 3 had NO MUSIC, only the menu music, no other music at all. Doom without action and music = not a doom game.

Millenial here and I have always thought the game was better without duct tape mods.

Exactly - it is why silent hill fundamentally fails as a "horror" game.

I fucking love horror/survival horror games and Doom 3 has to be the worst attempt at it.
The enemies would respawn behind you all the fucking time, has to be the most annoying element in a game, it was a cheap attempt at horror, the sound design was all over the place, the best way I can describe it is that it was trying to force the horror.
The worst part tho was that it had the potential to be good.
