I had friends in the past, so I actually know how it's done. You just need to talk to other people. Ideally other people that are playing the same game as you. Being a very aware person, I could have made a friend recently, but I'm not interested anymore. I was playing WoW, and I killed a tough mob with another person. She was like "do you need help with anything else?" and I said No, because it was the truth. I could have added that person if I wanted to make a friend. When you've had friends before, you can see the exact moment when you gain a friend like it's an RPG. I just picked No.

Oh, and I was playing Helldivers. I was in a match with two other people, and I thought they were friends. Nope, they were just talking and then one guy was like

and then they were friends for real. So, that's how it happens. It was just two guys playing a game and using voice chat. I used to use voice chat when I played Garry's Mod.
