I did a quick look at the guide and it's primarily about how Sonic and other characters in the series should be depicted.

It's quite pretentious. Don't they understand that the problem is not the designers, but sega? They're the ones who came up with the open world crap in Frontiers and all the other bad decisions. If anything, fans should bring their projects to sega to see if they approve. Since they love the series so much. They should also support the projects of the developers who made the original games.

My ideal Sonic game is Sonic Rush converted into 3D with wall run for limited verticality, a crouch button that can be used to spin while running. The boost is replaced by sprint: its not instant, but it does accelerate you at the cost of not being able to turn for shit. Its the only way to enter super sonic speed, which is invincible, but hard to control.
