I just dropped SF6 and I'm looking for an alternative but all I hear about Tekken 8 is that it's bad, what's so wrong with it?

Nothing. It's kino. I also dropped slime slighter for it.

It's the same as sf6, constant mixups, inescapable situations, infinite pressure. The only difference is that ,unlike sf6, knowledge checks are much more impactful. In sf6 almost every characters plays the same, in T8 the characters have more identity, not much when compared to previous entries but they still have a tiny bit of it that makes the difference when making the jump from sf6. It also has garbage single player offerings so if you were hoping for some world tour shenanigans forget it.

I didn't even install the world tour part or make an avatar in SF6, I've only player Tekken 7 somewhat seriously so I was wondering about 8 since I don't have much of an insight into Tekken. What's wrong with the rage system now?

It's not the rage system (it's infuriating but it's nowhere near the worst part of T8, even tho it sucks), it's the heat system, a universal install that practically makes every round the same pressure into mixup blender until one of you either runs out of heat or guesses wrong. Combos can last for a good 30 seconds during which heat doesn't run out and can be spent to keep the combo going, making the game even more tedious. If you really wanna buy it do it on sale and don't touch the DLC until you're sure of which character you want. The passes in Tekken are the definition of a scam and this comes from someone who got their main back from a pass, that's just how gross it is.

It's a casino. It's not as much of a casino as sf6, but it's still a casino. However it's gotten better with some of the emergency patches on season 2.
