Why is this?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Kojima connoisseurs are in agreement that DS2 is his best work yet however

list them, because DS1 had 0 challenge as well and both of the games are remarkebly similar, in fact it's the most normal sequel he's made in terms of how similar the two titles are

Spotted the underaged Amerimutt.
The game was loved by critics AND fans.

>quickly becoming despised by fans
More headcanon. The same American IGN internet white knights who review bombed DS1 are now giving the sequel meh scores for "problematikkk female representashun!!", while rest of the world is showering it with 9/10 to 10/10 scores.

Also, sorry that your masterpiece is stuck on a Snoy system for 12 months.
Nobody wants to support that Jewish Californian company no more, and no one old enough to pay for his own rent and games would waste money on a fucking console in 2010+15.
