I genuinely can't fucking believe how good this game is. As someone who watched the anime first but never gameplay I was skeptical when I downloaded it on my 3 day weekend. Spent 5 hours rerolling then sank around 40 hours in gameplay since Friday? What the actual fuck is this? Cygames actually made something that isn't pure slop for once and I'm mind blown.

Does it get worse later on? How p2w is it. I've played grubble fantasy and Shadowverse I know their monetization habits are pretty egregious most of the time. Is end game just PvP? Or do careers get harder later on? I was fucking dreaming of horse girls I think it's over for me bros...

Cygames' franchises are pure SOVL, the issue is that they always handle them like shit and self sabotage themselves with the most retarded decisions known to mankind

Yes, entirely free you can play the game to the fullest. You get a horsegirl, make a stat deck/skill deck, and then spend 3 hours doing a visual novel roguelike where you train stats watching your numbers go up, do randomized events (a al slay the spire or any other roguelike decl builder) then put her in an auto battler style race. It has real and unfortunately very engaging gameplay.

It only matters if you're going to worry about the pvp shit. Wait a week and see who you get from your free tickets and then the most recommended is Oguri Cap, but you should pick who you like. You have to level all your horsegirls regardless.

If you keep your expectation low (as in not trying to compete against actual whales) then it's entirely possible to f2p or light spending.

Main content would be PvP, but there are single players content that can get pretty hard for the average players. They release different scenarios to train over time.

isn't this card crazy good for front runners or am i missing something?

I just picked up this game a couple days ago out of curiosity. For Career Mode, is it expected that you won't get through the whole thing on your initial attempts? My first go-round, I went with Gold Ship and she got through a pretty good chunk of the goals. But then there was a race where I couldn't get past 7th place even after retrying so that ended my career prematurely.

its possible to win your first few careers even without borrowing someone elses legacy/card but it requires having good, leveled cards for your horse and a bit of luck, just treat losses as part of the learning curve
