I think, by the time of the Xbox One X, it would have been apparent that Xbox, as a hardware brand, simply cannot find major footing in Europe or any footing in Japan.

I probably would have pursued Game Pass even harder than they currently are. Make Game Pass a walled garden. You cannot play the new XYZ without the subscription.
And before you say "gamers would never" they absolutely fucking would, gamers are RETARDS. Gamers paid 15 a month to play World of Warcraft. They would pay double to get into Game Pass if the offerings were compelling and, more importantly, exclusive.

instead of buying and dismantling teams, keep teams intact and let them work on new projects
instead of moneyhatting the industry to force telemetry and upgrades, contribute to the enjoyment of customers with quality products

1. I would've shot whoever suggested Gamepass as a warning to everyone else.
2. Focus on creating more exclusives.
3. Keep competent devs like Tango around, immediately green light a 2nd Hi-Fi Rush after the first one's success.
4. Get Rare to actually make some video games to put those IPs to good use.
5. Acquire Konami instead of Bethesda or ActiBlizzard and start pumping out exclusive Bomberman, Castlevania, and Metal Gear games
6. Actually put out Halo games that people want to play and make the multiplayer good so as to steal market share away from Battlefield and Call of Duty.
7. Absolutely no woke shit. Let Sony have that.
8. Anti-jeet mandate. No more than 10% of any dev team can be jeet.
9. Create new dev teams in underserved parts of the US with lots of talent like Florida, Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Build up in-house developers by cutting their teeth on A/AA exclusive projects that will retail for $20 and $40 respectively, building up they skill and reputation of those new dev studios before letting them take on bigger games.
