I'm not even saying his games aren't fun. He's definitely inherited that old school japanese quirkiness that jp games are notorious for and I haven't played a single game of his that I didn't enjoy or that felt somehow phoned in or soulless or whatever. Shit MGS2 was one of my all time favs back in the day. It's just weird that his career has gone long enough that I caught up to how dumb his writing actually is.
I'm not gonna lie though, even though he's clearly a massive pseud retard, I can't help but respect the guy. There's a level of sincerity to his stuff that's just disarming. The guy is clearly uncompromising and that's hard to come by.
