If a game comes to Steam and Nintendo, is there any reason you would choose the latter?

Well Zelda and Metroid would never come to PC and those are the only games on Nintendo consoles worth playing so I will always buy a Nintendo to play them.

I returned my Switch 2 due to lack of games, shitty battery and shit screen. Will buy it again when there is an OLED version available.

I have more games on Switch at this point (that are catering to my current tastes) than games on Steam (which is ancient and had actual PC games too), such as Dredge, Hades, Dying Light, Atelier, Dragon Quest, Vanillaware, Ys, Nippon Ichi Software, Balatro, Fuga, etc.
Besides I sold my Deck in late 2024 which ended up to be a regret purchase after one year, by being too inconvenient in actual & practical use compared to the Switch OLED. Deck can't swap portable and dock modes mid-game was the biggest drawback amongst other flaws.
I also have zero patience for PC troubleshooting unlike the previous decade or two, so this is also another factor why I stick to consoles for videogames.

They do, it's in the EULA, they will provide an as-is solution to let you use your games offline if they ever go out of business. You can test it yourself now with any steam game by using Go Offline. The only difference is it wouldn't force an online check anymore.

Which doesn't matter because Steam is never going offline. It could get sold, but the service itself is never going to disappear. Unlike a console service which will disappear about ~6 years like what is about to happen to the Switch 1.

Which has never happened? It's possible to redownload games you've bought before, you just can't buy anything more.
Nobody is disagreeing however that it took the Switch for Nintendo to actually make a proper storefront system alike to PSN and else

If I had infinite money, I would have a Switch 2, a Steam Deck, and a PS4 (for Bloodborne).
I have no need for an Xbox anything or a PS5, so I wouldn't get those regardless.
I could never justify buying a whole console for one game, so a PS4 is out. I can play all of my Steam games on my computer just fine, so a Deck will have to wait.
All that leaves for me is the Switch 2. Come Christmas I intend to get one.
