Its been like 30 years and battle mode Mario Kart has peaked with this map, they just haven't cracked the formula.
Wii and 8 battle were alright, but Block Fort still triumphs.

MK64 Block Fort kart battles is such a bizarre thing to think about in retrospect. It basically the main reason this particular game was loved and were so fun they rightfully allow it to be compared in quality to Goldeye/Mario 64/Smash etc. But now people who didn't grow up with this in person will likely never play this particular mode with 3 other people and won't get why this was borderline the ultimate couch multiplayer game in general, and unless you explain this people will dismiss it as outdated.

It's amazing isn't it?
MKDS perfected the battle mode and it was made all the better by bringing back Block Fort
I was so disappointed in MK World's battle mode
Let us have no time limit balloon survival mode already
Also make more maps with verticality like this and Double Decker

The skyscraper map was great but too difficult for casuals, they kept falling off all the time
