If every last one of you personally hates the direction gaming has been taking then what are you even looking forward to in the future? What keeps you going at night if everything related to your hobbies is just destined for a crash and failure?

I stay away from AAA slop, mostly. Works pretty well

I want to watch gaming die, then see if anyone comes along to pick up the pieces and reinvigorate it. If they don't well too bad I still have other media from gaming or hobbies to enjoy. If it does then maybe I can get hopeful and excited again.

Games. I hate the OVERALL direction the industry is going and has gone but there's some indies that still excite me. I also read and paint miniatures

Gaming isnt my only hobby and theres a ton of games I havent played already.. then theres the rare game that comes out which is bareable to play. Admitting everything is bleak is the first step in it getting better or something

Im making a visual novel that will let you be raped by horrors beyond comprehension. I've built up a mediocre 500 followers over 3 years who like my works so this will fund a strategy game I've wanted to make for a long time.

I couldn't sleep 'cause I was thinking about how to organize my armies in Total War: Three Kingdoms after getting my ass kicked in TROM. So I got back up, planned and budgeted, and now I'm ready to go to war after Liu Yu overextended. One enemy army is ready to die, and I've set up an ambush outside my capital incase the other army wants to try something.

So that's what's keeping me going at night, this game is great.

1)I want to make my own games
2) it's not like vidya is my whole life lmao

There's still decades of good games from the past and a handful of nice indies that come out every year. And every once in a while there's a nice new high budget game like Elden Ring, Armored Core VI, or Expedition 33.Things are nowhere near as grim as you describe them to be. I don't really care that the slop salesmen have chosen to silo themselves in a separate realm of gay browns, underpowered walled garden shitboxes, and ugly ass art (b-b-but you can see the pores and nosehairs!!!!! no mirrors though!!!!!!)
