gen 7 was the last real gen. gen 8 is the 4g lte of gaming. keep releasing the same consoles over and over again, end up having to improve it slightly, never cut support to previous gen (ps) or have it all be cross compatible (xbox). very, very few games are locked to either series or ps5. this doesn't even mean exclusives, most games are still getting "last gen" releases framed as "cross gen". motherfucker, cross gen cannot exist by definition, a generation isn't just a remaster. it's a whole new system that is better by all objective technical metrics and is so much more capable than the last gen, that games designed for it are incompatible simply due to technological constraints.
