I think SMT 3 and 5V are very well rounded games. Persona are great too, but the focus shifts from gameplay and exploration to story. Persona typically has a more in depth approach to its themes and symbolism than most SMT and spin-off games, not to imply SMT3 and 5 are lacking, just that Persona does more with them.

I played vanilla on Switch and got Vengeance on Steam when it came out, very good purchase. The team building shenanigans is just too fun and it feels like it's on crack in the new one compared to the original.

Story-wise, it's still not the best plot there is but Vengeance has a bit more of a personal touch to it and is better than the original Creation route but they're really meant to complement each other rather than one just being better or worse than the other.

The truth is the story was never bad to begin with. People were too used to IV's style of story telling and then couldn't handle a story that went in the full opposite direction and used theming and subtly instead.

The multiple spheres in the sky are where the throne is located, and there are 5 of them because there have been 5 rulers on the throne in V's world. When one world is discard the throne gets tossed. You spend Taito trying to get into that sphere, the previous throne YHVH held. Nothing like this is the case in Nocturne.

I will tell you this, only retards don't understand the maniax ending leads to the events in 5. So yes, it's a sequel game but for fuck sakes just because both worlds had a conception in Tokyo does not mean they are the same world. They are bound to have similarities shared between them because it's the same event in the same city but they purposefully made enough disconnects for you to see it's not the same world.
