blacklist has an interesting concept and has 1000 steps forward, its problem is that it has 2000 steps backwards. Gameplay wise that is, the characters/plot is ass
i like the idea of more playstyle variety, "play your way", and stealth/combat fluidly flowing into one another, except its just done poorly. Theres some incredibly half assed shit like, if an explosive goes off on the other side of the map, suddenly every enemy knows your position. Even if they wont wallhack you and know where you went after you leave that place, its completely retarded
The all-out firefights combat is not as bad as the splinter cell trilogy but still very ass
The stealth is also worse off in a lot of ways: Most notably, despite having a proper light-and-dark system, if not literally the best in the series technologically speaking, it literally does not have a proper light indicator and will solely have a light telling whether its "dark" or "not dark". That indicator can mean literally anything from "invisible from 2 meters away" and "enemies can still see you from far away just slowly". And the levels blatantly care much less about darkness than the previous titles, so many levels in daylight or where youre supposed to 90% rely on pure sightlines
The best part about Blacklist was the "loadout" thing where you can buy and select the gadgets you wanna bring, with a guy telling you what sort of challenges you should expect in the next area and giving you his recommendations. Admitedly that game has some cool gadgets
And dont get me started on the retarded hollywood action sequences
The game fucks up so much, and its not really a "spionage" game anymore, so i honestly think that the "Intravenous" series just does everything good about Blacklist without all the aspects of it that suck.
