The main thing is to stop abusing grinds and manuals; think of the floor and rails as lava, you don't want to be on either because that'll kill your combo. Also both meters reset slightly when you land into a new grind/manual, so it's basically really important to keep getting out of them, and you can usually do a kickflip every time too, so you'll easily rack up multiplier just doing that while following the lines that you're probably already following. Additionally, any time you land in a grind, you're safe from bailing because of rotation, so you basically always want to try and get a 180+ on tricks onto a grind. Similarly, reverts are massively punished, so avoid using those; instead level yourself out on a ramp (revert after you leave the ramp) and then land in a grind. Add as many wallrides and wallies as possible, since walls aren't lava, and abuse the fact that an ollie into a wallride will compound your upwards momentum, letting you pull off more specials.
