what video game do you wish had a model kit?

for me, the model kits already exist but the games don't

I hope people are realizing that you can supplement stuff with models. Mecha break getting a model basically at release, for example. It's just a good idea. Why would you make a full mech game and not at least look into following gunpla, you know?

I'd expect people to make mech games just to sell some gunpla kits honestly. they're strangely popular

I think it's a basic "it's fun to put things together" appeal but the designs themselves can also be focused around being fun toys. I do historical as well but it's a different flavor winding up with a complex, fragile tank with things like tiny antenna sticking out, and getting a big robot with a laser beam. It's like combining lego and regular model kits.

WOT does a lot of model kit promotions, so it works for other settings. I'd like a model of a warthog or something.

tooling a model kit is expensive. you'd need to be pretty clever to find something people would want. most of the really big games aren't prominently featuring fancy vehicles that would happen to be interesting to build a model of. I'm sure printing figurines of characters is a thing, but they're kind of gay and just about painting
>warthog
this is a good idea

Because my game wouldn't involve Gundam.

Baldrsky. Too many good designs stuck forever in an obscure action/VN game

All good mechs make for good mech model kits.

the metal models they sell are overprices and pretty bad

Understatement of the century. Even the metal mech from the 80s were better

It's so weird that Murakumo of all games got a kit.
I wish more Xbox titles had them, like Gunvalkyrie and Panzer Dragoon Orta

Pretty sure From had a deal with kotobukiya, they did all their AC kits then as well. Wish we got a Metal Wolf Chaos one though.

Small batch isn't realistic in anything but resin or metal or shit like siocast. They probably found a guy who'd do them and flung him the 3d models. Be better if they just put the models online or offered them printed though. Metal is stinky for big multipart kits.

Is the new audiobook they've been posting chapter-by-chapter any good? I liked the first one, gonna wait until the second one is done before I listen.

Speaking of, I got a shipping confirmation just the other day, I'm finally getting one of my most desired kits. It was reprinted due to the recent game. Previous runs went for $250 or more online

>make Titanfall 3
>it's a straight upgrade in every way to the second
>mechs are even more in-depth and unique, even fully customizable with mods and maybe guns
>partner with bandai and create models that are just as customizable and even offer versions you can paint yourself
>Mech genre is revitalized
why do we have to live in the worst timeline?

Its more that the consistency of the models look really wonky and the details are washed out ot non existent.

>make an indie mech game
>release a pack of 3d printable mech files as an additional purchase, kinda like some games sell soundtrack
>not just statues, engineered fdm frame for sturdiness and resin outer shell for details
would this work?
Anonymous No.714879739
>>714878575
Totally. People make FDM mech models all the time. If you're not really expecting to make money from it, it's probably great marketing.
The japs hate putting files online though. Really uncommon to see them do that.

Is Titanfall 2 worth the time? It's 85% off right now and I've always wanted to try it, mechs in that game are beyond soulful but I never actually played
