Keyboard is the cheapest therefore most soulful.
VR is the most expensive gรฒy consoomer trash therefore most soulless.

M+KB benefits are that mouse has more precision than sticks and keyboard has more buttons, which is great if you're playing PC focused games, but I'd rather use a controller for just about anything else.

Mouse and keyboard is near the top.
Using suitable controllers for the game (flightstick, fightstick, wheel, 2D gamepad) can be good.
VR is just a monitor replacement, but 8th gen controllers (what people typically refer to as VR controllers) are pretty good.
Using "modern" controllers (5th gen controllers) is second from the bottom.
Touchscreen slop is at the absolute rock bottom.
>>714862767
There was a massive marketing campaign during 7th gen to gaslight PC players into switching over to Xbox controllers and there was also a massive wave of multiplats with completely butchered controls that were only even vaguely functional on whatever the port was targeting.
>>714863619
>more comfortable and ergonomic than keyboard
Nah.
>doesn't require a surface to lay on/use
It still requires you to awkwardly hold your hands together unless its a split controller.
>isn't cluttered with buttons that are useless to whatever game you're playing
Controllers don"t have enough buttons yet are simultaneously cluttered with useless buttons, I don"t even understand how they accomplished it.

Gaming has become dumber because KBM cucks demand games that only require you to press a button or not. What's so fun about just pressing buttons instead of interacting with them? Sim racing is unironically the only genre getting it right with future technology, making the game center around inputs, not just

KBM allows for much more movement and interaction than the usual controller does, it's the generic Xbox controller that is causing this bullshit.
>Can"t look at things to interact with them, so everything has to be context sensitive "press A when you're in range"
>Can't make minute angle adjustments when moving, so everything has to be slow or automated
>Dual analog prevents you from using the face buttons without a retarded grip, so the average player is usually limited to just 4 buttons at a time
I have nothing against sim controllers like flightsticks, it's just delusional to blame the keyboard or the mouse when all of these changes can be traced back to the focus on controllers for multiplats.

Oh, and by the way, mouse is actually pretty based. Games that can center around it like line drawing centric games, such as CS is quite soulful
I'm not really impressed by the whole flicking meme, since the mouse was kind of designed for that anyway
But if you could draw more dynamic lines under pressure and in a short amount of time, that would make for a soulful game and it could even be bundled into a shooter doesn't have to be caricature game

>outside of Racing games
it depends on the type of driving, if it's a game where you need to change turn direction extremely quickly or brake/throttle very fast as well then keyboard will be better because analog inputs from gamepad or racingwheel+shifter takes physically too long
here's a vid someone made about it https://youtu.be/ypuPByWDNxU

tldr: even on average but sim type games are slightly better on wheels/pad where analog input shines
