I think involving the protomolecule in yet another story in the universe devalues it's novelty, mystique, and threat level within it's own narrative. The more close calls humanity miraculously survives with a given threat in a story, the less miraculous that feat becomes. It becomes normal, expected, and makes the threat less threatening.

I never heard of the Expanse until Owlcat announced they were gaming a make of this literal who IP only redditors and boomers care about. Looking into it, it seems like watered down sci-fi with nothing of the thing that makes sci-fi interesting, interestelar travel and aliens.
I hope it flops hard and the Dark Heresy game also. So they can go back to making good games like Pathfinder 3.
