You mean to tell me if people aren't aware of games then they won't play them? Say it ain't so!
It's not a hard formula to figure out.
>Game with minimal marketing comes out
>Streamers will give it a go
>Streamers provide exposure
>People begin to buy and play with friends
>They have the same funny experiences streamers and co have
>They make their own clips
>Hundreds of funny clips are now in circulation on social media
>The game gets more exposure as more people play it
>Fun is had for a while
>Numbers drop as the game gets stale as players and friends have had their fun.
>Numbers drop
Players don't care about the numbers. They're not looking at player count. That doesn't matter in a game where you and 3 others play in your own lobby. They're looking at something which seems like fun.

It's always the same story, a game becomes popular overnight, try the game, the game ends up being shit, but it's popular because the devs chose marketing over product quality.

Fun game. Hope the devs incorporate the 4+ party mod into it. Have had 10 people games so far with no lag.

Out of bunch of party games I get dragged into, it is one of the best. But imo you need to have 4 or more to join in.

"Friendslop" is the genre with the most innovation in it. The saturation level is insane, so only games that actually do something different can succeed. The innovation here in Peak being
>let's distill the climbing traversal that is popular in countless open world games down into what makes it fun, and turn it into a multiplayer game
Much like balatro distilled roguelikes down into the single act of making choices, and then made a game from it, this is also a masterclass in raw game design through identifying what it is that people like about climbing as a mechanic.
