When I was playing on a WoW private server, I found a guild of pretty chill east europeans who were raiding together. Everyone had a mic and a personality, and no one was a massive faggot. Esports made multiplayer games too serious and less of a playground type setting. The average person on mic is so genuinely unpleasant to be around that people either mute up or match their energy and devolve coms into a virgin shouting match.

Most of the people from my old online friend group are dead now.
