>>714873590 (OP) >Forced mining You can beat the entire game without setting foot in the mines once OP. The only odd ball item you can't get outside of the mines the the basic quartz but luckily you can get it from Clint or the library trash can.

how would you add depth to a mining minigame, assuming it's in a game without large scale terrain deformation the rpgs i can think of with mining are usually just "gather resource at marker"
>>714885221 I guess I'd make it more like the gen 4 Pokemon mining game where you have to be careful where and how much you use your pickaxe or else the walls collapse. Maybe add some kind of hazardous gas mechanic

>>714885221 Star Wars Galaxies style It had a Prospecting profession in which you scanned the area for resource deposits, and then narrowed down your search to pinpoint rich ore and mineral veins. No convenient rocks sitting on the surface for you to hit with a pickaxe.
>>714887632 you can summon grandpa with a diamond? i'm in fall year 3 of my first run and he said i was doing great, then gave me a statue that shits out Iridium
>>714888834 Theres a lot to do, but you could always just sell off a bunch of shit, stop growing plants and focus on what you feel like doing. I've entirely stopped planting crops and have lots of fruit trees. its still too much work, but i got used to making a lot of money
